New users must be approved going forward

We've been getting spammed so much by someone creating dozens of new accounts each day from .ru domains trying to sell drugs and porn that I've had to disable automatic registration.

In the future, I will need to approve each new user before they can complete registration or post here. I'll get an email announcing any new users, so it won't take me to long to approve legitimate new registrations.

Well, thank God that's going to end. I hated seeing those as the most recent posts nearly every day. Now to breath some new life into this place....

Yes, very sorry about that, I'll pay better attention in the future. I had to delete over 100 of those fake accounts in addition to hundreds of posts.

I won't let it get out of hand like that in the future, plus think this moderated user thing will work out nicely. I get an email on my Blackberry when a new user joins now, I can log in and approve them within minutes.
