Default The Mrs. USA drama

Story here:
FOXNews.com - Miss California vs. Perez Hilton: A Question of Beliefs? - Greta Van Susteren | On The Record With Greta

Bascially it boils down to a contestant getting asked by an openly gay judge weather or not she supports gay marriage. She says simply that her and her family's beliefs are that a marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. She is then promptly booed off stage and loses her crown over it.

What I am most confused about is that this group of people, the ones booing, are the same people who preach tolerance and respect for everyone's views. Put it this way: One of the judges is a hog butcher, one of the contestants is a muslim hottie, she gets asked which part of the hog she likes the best and replies with "None, me and my family believe it to be a dirty animal and we dont support eating it".

Would she have been booed? Would her answer affect the outcome of the competition?

You and I both know the answer is a firm *no*.

I for one, am VERY proud of her. She was on the Today Show the other morning, and just the way she's reacted to this whole mess and how she carries herself is awesome. She knew her answer would cost her the crown, which it shouldn't have, but she gave it anyway. Kudos to her for not wavering on her beliefs, morals, and faith.

IMO the pageant isnt the place for politicing and the like. So what, she doesn't support gay marriage. big hairy deal - its a beauty pageant. Yes, those girls should have opinions and awareness of the hot button issues - but there's more important things to worry about imo. Economy, energy conservation/going green, etc. I think those should be bigger concerns than trying to redefine marriage.

I'm sick to death of all the LGBT people and their supporters crying foul and being mean/nasty/hateful to those who don't agree/support their cause but in the same breathe want equality and people to treat others fairly. Didher answer really warrant calling her a f**king, stupid b**ch? Please, rocks in glass houses anyone? ugh.

I thought this was a real example of courage and honesty. Regardless of anyone's position on this issue, she told the truth despite the consequences. That's a profile in courage.

You cant respect the opinion of someone whose views are to restrict the rights of others. Thats the difference. if you read her statement it basically says "yeah its great they have that option, but they shouldnt".

Now if you believe they shouldnt, then by all means thats the choice for YOU -so YOU dont marry someone of the same gender, but why must we legislate against others and force them into our belief system? This isnt theft or murder - its two human beings loving each other.

Also - I wouldnt applaud her "moral high ground" all that much since she now has a "solo" sex tape - whatever that means...

While I think this is hilarious - yet a little sad. I remember this:

Romans 3:23
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God
