The one thing I am waiting for (referring to end-times) is the fact that there will be peace between Israel and Palestine.

The person who accomplishes that will be the anti-Christ.

Well here goes: God gave the land of Canaan to Abraham and all of his descendants (Israelites) (Genesis 17:8) specifically excluding Ishmael and his descendants because Ishmael was born to Hagar, and God promised that He would provide an heir through Sarah. So when Sarah was 90 and Abraham was 100, she gave birth to Isaac, and God made a covenant that He would make Israel a great nation through Abraham and Isaac and not Ishmael. (Genesis 17:19-21).

Ishmael's descendants are modern-day Arabs. Rome captured Israel in 61 BC, then destroyed the temple and removed the Israelites in 71 AD. Rome then renamed the land of Israel to Palestine, which is derived from Philistine. Palestinians aren't native to Palestine, and they are mainly Arabs who have migrated there.

So the conflict between modern-day Israel and Palestine goes all the way back to Isaac's descendants fighting with Ishmael's descendants.

Daniel 9:27 states:

"He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."

The 'He' there is referring to the anti-Christ, and the 'seven' ('week' is another translation) is referring to a seven year period. 'Covenant' means truce or treaty, and the many is referring to Israel's leaders. So to paraphrase, the anti-Christ will make a treaty with Israel's leaders for seven years, and in the middle of those seven years, he will set up an abomination on the rebuilt temple (another focus of end-times discussion) until God throws him into hell.
