Quote:
The translation of Yahweh to Jehova had to do with the fact that the Hebrew alphabet differs greatly from the European languages in which it became Jehova. In ancient Hebrew it was spelled YHWH but pronounced Yahweh. In english the translation of YHWH would be JHVH and though there are various beliefs on the history of Yahweh it comes down to not so much an error in translatio but a addition of vowel in spelling in order to make the word readable by other languages. YHWH became YaHWeH and JHVH became JeHoVaH, but either way they have the exact same meaning. So by this logic Joseph Smith was a man and as such anything he had to say was suspect as flawed. Can one who believes the word of God assume that in giving His word to man, he would choose someone who would write flaw into his word. And what of the quote in Revelations in which the Lord himself says that not a single word will be added nor removed from the word until time is finished. Is then devine revelation flawed by the error of God in choosing a man prone to error to give his word to, and would that flaw be set for the rest of time until the Lord returns?
