As Woman exploring the prior, lack of current, and potential future acceptance of faith. I especially and SINCERELY would like to discuss the issues in this forum with WOMEN ONLY.
PLEASE respect the intentions of each thread. Because you can still read a forum, it implies that you can read the short synopsis of a forum, and thus are educated enough to understand the purpose of such forum. If one wanted to discuss the issue presented in the thread with mixed genders - they would have posted the question in a different forum. I would hope fellow members of this site would respect and honor the intentions of this forum. To see someone who is openly admitted male, inputting their opinions into a forum that is supposedly dedicated to women - I am sorry, but please have more respect for the other gender. Please refrain your inputs to the 100 other potential forums on this site you are WELCOME to post to. Is it too much to ask for you not to blanket you opinions over a forum that SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDES YOU? I previously thought it was silly to see a request where they suggested the "men only" forum have a limiting factor as to only those who identify themselves as male could see, or read it. While I never, ever would have voiced that, I now still apologize. The tables have turned so to speak - I NEVER thought a man would be presumptuous enough to think their word would be invited in what has been designated a woman's only forum. Sure, someone could easily create a new account and read the different gender forums under disguise, but to see one so BLATANTLY disrespect the intentions of such a forum.... ...why have a single gender forums if the other members who I honestly though would have moral values established well enough to honor them - NOT honor them? |

Thank you, Kelsy. I had debated in my head yesterday how to approach this without coming off in the wrong way, but you said it perfectly.

Kelsy:
I've made you moderator of the Women's section. I'm still looking for a way to make the section only viewable by users who identify themselves as women when they register. In the meantime, please feel free to use your discretion to moderate this section as you see fit. Please try to move inappropriate posts and threads rather than outright delete them if possible. Thank you

with all due respect, how does someone's genitailia relate to their ability to express an opinion on an issue pertaining to either gender?
Is a woman's opinion not valid in a men's discussion? Can a man not advocate for the rights of women as well. I posted, mistakenly, thinking that the site would be completely open to all. I will refrain from posting here any further but I would like to know: what exactly does the segregation of gender accomplish? One would presume this site in general is a site for all christians and to bring unity not divisiveness. If I want to discuss an issue like "women in the church" - do i *really* have to make a duplicate thread in my own genders camp? Why? If we get a transgendered christian in here, where are they allowed to post? Anyway - until Eric replies, I will respect the rules. Sorry for the confusion.

This isn't about rights, discrimination, etc. The two forums are designated as such because there are certain issues that women only feel comfortable discussing with other women and men only feel comfortable discussing with men. I'm sure Eric can explain it better, but that's the way I see it, and other women/men as well.

/shrug - OK. I would submit to you however that none of the issues posted in that forum thus far are ones that most women would feel "uncomfortable" about speaking with anyone regarldess of gender. But, if those are the rules, I will comply.
